What does "estimate price" mean?

The estimate price is a benchmark for the value of the object and is usually set based on previous sales of similar objects. The final price may be higher or lower depending on the bidding.

What is the cost of buying from you?

We take a commission from the buyer, a 25% buyer's premium on the winning bid, and a hammer fee of SEK 80. Example: an object is sold for SEK 1000. The total cost is then SEK 1330. The total cost is also shown before you place a bid. All fees are including VAT.

Do you offer shipping?

We offer several advantageous options. Please note that we will automatically add a shipping option to your invoice if you are not located in Umeå or nearby. If you prefer to pick up your items directly from our showroom, you can easily call us or send an email, and we will waive the shipping fee.

After conducting a customer survey, we found that most people living outside Umeå prefer to have their shipping option directly included in the invoice, rather than contacting the auction house themselves for a quote, etc. We have noticed that this is generally highly appreciated by our buyers.

We pack and ship packages after an auction in order of priority and as time permits. If you are in a hurry to receive your package, you are welcome to pick up your item from our showroom or arrange your own shipping solution, or call us to see if we can expedite the process.

Shipping:

Our cheapest and fastest option:
We send smaller packages within Sweden using DHL Service Point, DHL Stycke as well as Schenker to delivery points.

The package is traceable and delivered to your nearest collection point or terminal.

SMS notification is included free of charge.

These deliveries are not insured by us. If an item is damaged in transit, you as the buyer must file a claim with DHL or Schenker. Therefore, it is important that you understand the rights associated with the transportation option. If you discover damage, it must be reported to DHL or Schenker within 7 days of picking up your package. Our staff have undergone training to pack your item correctly to reduce the risk of damage. Delivery insurance via IF can be purchased for a cost of SEK 80 + 2% of the total value of the item; DHL is the only transportation option available if you want insurance. Contact us for more information. The price for these packages varies greatly depending on size, weight, and value. The package must be collected within 14 days of arriving at your collection point. If the package is not collected, you will be charged a return shipping fee to the auction house. This fee must be paid before you can order a new shipment. If you do not contact us within a reasonable time, we reserve the right to charge you a storage fee. (Note that paintings with glass are transported at your own risk, and any compensation for damage may be denied by the carrier if no extra insurance has been purchased).
Normal delivery time: 1-2 weeks from the time our finance department registers your payment. During busy periods such as immediately after an auction, packages are sent in order.

For items made of gold, gemstones, or coins:
We use PostNord Värdebrev or REK, which are insured at the hammer price of the auction. This is a very secure option where only you as the recipient can collect your package with identification. Only you as the recipient have the ability to track these deliveries. Please note that PostNord cannot pick up these letters from the auction house due to security reasons; instead, we must deliver them to PostNord's business center ourselves. We deliver these packages/letters as time permits, which may delay the delivery by a few days.
Normal delivery time: 1.5-2 weeks.

For larger items such as armchairs, chairs, and bulky paintings:
For larger deliveries (including half pallets & full pallets), we use DSV, which always includes home delivery. (Note that you must be able to receive these packages within 4 days of the item arriving at the terminal in your city. If you cannot be present within this time, DSV will either return the package to us, and you as the customer will be responsible for the return shipping cost. This fee must be paid before you can order a new shipment. (You can also call DSV if you encounter any issues and agree on a solution with them). This shipping option is very suitable for items that fit on a pallet (120x80cm, maximum weight 500kg). Note that pallet shipping is a very secure transportation option.
This service can also be used for individual pieces of furniture, such as an armchair or a large painting. Through DSV, in some cases, you can purchase insurance if the delivery is valued over SEK 5000 excluding shipping costs. We only act as an intermediary for the shipping option to make your purchase smoother; we are not responsible for the carrier's handling, and if there is any damage during delivery, you must file a claim with the shipping company. (Note that paintings with glass are transported at your own risk, and any compensation for damage may be denied by the carrier if no extra insurance has been purchased).
Normal delivery time: 1.5-3 weeks for bulky deliveries.

Even larger items such as sofas, large cabinets, or bookshelves:
These items are too large for DSV, meaning they must be transported by a courier company. You must call or email our local courier companies yourself to request a quote (it is always easier if you are the one ordering these shipments; in some cases, you may also be entitled to the RUT deduction, consult the courier company).

The courier companies are experienced in transporting items from Norrlands Auktionsverk, and you can easily send a link to the item you have won so they can calculate the price more easily. Note that our responsibility for damages in transit ends after the transport company has picked up the item from us.

Your own alternative:
You can also book your own delivery with the transport company you feel most comfortable with. Your transport company will pick up the item from us, pack it, and deliver it to you.

Most transport companies offer this service, which can be advantageous if you have used similar services before.

Our responsibility for damages in transit ends after the transport company has picked up the item from us. Please note that Norrlands Auktionsverk does not offer packing for items transported by your transport company.

Selling

My objects were not sold! What happens now?

We will try to list your objects on up to three auction occasions, please note that it is the auction house that decides how many times we include a recalled object after the first auction round. If an object is unsold after the first auction round, the buyers have the opportunity to place a bid afterwards and buy the object if the bid is at least equal to the seller's reserve price.

If we feel that you need to reduce the reserve price, we will contact you beforehand to advise you.

I have a large quantity of goods or a whole estate to sell?

No problem, we like challenges and see no assignment as too big or too small. If you have a substantial amount of goods, it is always easiest to book a free home visit for a valuation.
